Fruitcake by Eraserhead's Buddy Zabala
Intro
The intro starts off with just the guitars having the chord sequence
C# - G# - A# - G#
F# - F - Eb-F-F# - A
The bass would actually start in the first chorus part of the song
G|6--6------------------------6---6--|
D|----6-6-8-8-6--6-4---4-7-9--------6|
A|-----------------------------------|
E|-----------------------------------|
G|6--6-------------------------------|
D|----6-6-8-8-6--6-4---4-6-----------|
A|-----------------------------------|
E|-----------------------------------|
The next part that comes can be done using the chords C# - B - F# however Buddy Z. does a rift that i haven't perfected yet that sounds like this on the first iteration
G|-----------------------------------|
D|-------------------1---------------|
A|-4-4--2-2-----0--2----2--------2---|
E|-----------2------------2-2--4---2-|
G|-----------------------------------|
D|-----------------------------------|
A|-4-4--2-2--------------------------|
E|-----------2-----------------------|
The verse notes would just follow the root notes of the chords
C# - G# - Bb - G#
F#-F-Eb-F-F#-G#
You can do a variety for the 2nd iteration of the first part of the verse by doing octaves
G|-----------------------------------|

Come Together by the Beatle's Paul McCartney
I'm putting an entry about playing Come Together by the Beatles. I'll be updating this as we go or as I learn how to play this awesome song.

Introduction:
The intro to the song is played up the bass neck, in the 12th fret area. In tab notation:
G|--------------10^-------|
D|------------------12\7--|
A|--------10h12-----------|
E|--10-10-----------------|
Other tab notations note that you slide down from the 12th fret (D) to the 5th fret(G) of the D string. However I choose to stop at the 7th fret (A).
Referring to the guitar chords of this song. The intro is actually a Dm chord, which is composed of the following notes: D(1), F(m3) and A(5). That's the reason why i choose to stop on the 7th fret of the D string for the slide from the D note on the 3rd string
Most of the song would be based on this riff.
For the line "Hair down to his knee", which is played with a A7 chord. I play it like this:
G|------------------------|
D|------------------------|
A|-12-12---15-15-----11---|
E|------------------------|
or
G|------------------------|
D|---------10-10----------|
A|-12-12-------------11---|
E|------------------------|
Major 7th Chords are composed of the following notes: 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th. As I understand it, that's why the G#note (the 7th of the A) is integral in this part of the song.
For the G chord for the line "Got to be a joker..." just play a single G note
G|------------------------|
D|------------------------|
A|--10--------------------|
E|------------------------|
The chorus is played like this:

E|------------------------------------------|
For the guitar solo part, Paul stays on the D note instead of doing the riff
G|------------------------|
D|------------------------|
A|------------------------|
E|--10-10-----------------|
There are also some trills being done by Paul in some parts for the D chord.
In most cases it would be a hammer-on and pull off from the 10th fret to the 12th fret
of the 4th string
The Electric Bass Notes
I'll be putting my bass notes here. Logging all things that I do which are related to bass. Mostly I'll be blogging about music itself, but I may do occasional post about bass related news, gear, pictures... just whatever!
Hope we have fun!
Edit: I'm not a schooled bass player. So pardon if I use terms that are not conventional.
